Did one of your friends recently return from vacation, raving about her time paddle boarding at Jordanelle State Park? You may not have wanted to ask the question rattling around inside your brain—“What, exactly, is paddle boarding?”
Don’t worry. We at Jordanelle Rentals & Marina have got you covered. We’ll answer your question, so next time you can take part in the conversation or even rent a paddle board of your own the next time you’re in the Salt Lake City, UT area!
A paddle board—also called a stand up paddle board or SUP—is basically the love child of a surf board and kayak. It’s also one of the fastest-growing phenomenon in watersports. Like a surf board, you stand up on the paddle board rental, gently propelling yourself through the water with the use of a paddle. Because a paddle board is made of thicker material than a surf board, it is more stable and able to move through the water with ease.
Here’s a pic to give you an idea of what you would look like when paddle boarding.
Paddle boarding is a great way to explore the Jordanelle Reservoir, get some exercise, and enjoy the water. No previous paddle boarding experience is required in order to book one of our paddle board rentals. They’re available to anyone (even kids accompanied by an adult) regardless of age or ability.
